In Friday's Apple's press conference, Steve Jobs pulled out all the stops in an attempt to de-emphasize the severity of the antenna issue -- even going so far as to create a somewhat comical "underground" iPhone 4 song :

However, it's becoming rather apparent to quite a few iPhone 4 "early adopters" that the antenna issue is a real one that will affect most users :

Personally, I don't like the idea of requiring the iPhone 4 to always be in a case to ensure good reception. Now the case is an essential part of the phone ? Huh ? If so, then all the engineering effort devoted to making the iPhone 4 slimmer than it's predecessors was wasted and we have to live with a phone that is effectively fatter than most of the competition ?
Maybe Apple shouldn't have been to aggressive in getting their prototype back from Gizmondo ? Maybe Gizmondo would have discovered the antenna issue well before launch ? Maybe public beta tests are a good thing and over-secrecy a bad thing ?
When you combine the lackluster response to the antenna issues with Apple & AT&T's "stealth campaign" to start charging for iPhone & iPad bandwidth by the Mbps ( while over at Verizon it's still all-you-can-eat $29.99 / month ), one could make the charge that Apple is beginning to stray from its traditionally consumer-friendly ways.
The stock looks to be headed to the 200sma = 222.5 , or 200 by the time it gets down there :
I would not buy Apple stock and I am seriously considering abandoning iPhone for Android -- the HTC Droid Incredible looks like a nice option.
